Barcelona defeats Celta Vigo 4-2 thanks to a hat-trick from Lewandowski.
The prolific Polish striker opened the scoring for the Spanish champions in the ninth minute from the penalty spot. The spot-kick was awarded after Marcos Alonso was judged to have handled Fermin Lopez's shot inside the area.
However, Celta Vigo delivered an immediate response. Just 22 seconds after Barcelona's Marcus Rashford had an initial one-on-one chance saved, Sergio Carreira swiftly finished off a counter-attack, leveling the score.
Rashford quickly atoned for his earlier miss in the 36th minute. His pinpoint cross found Lewandowski, who expertly restored the visitors' lead with a powerful volley. But the drama of the first half wasn't over. Mid-table Celta Vigo struck back once more through Borja Iglesias, whose superb curling effort from the edge of the box nestled into the top corner, making it an electrifying half.
Barcelona managed to edge ahead again just before the halftime whistle. Teenager Lamine Yamal seized the opportunity in first-half stoppage time, dispatching Rashford's deflected cross at the back post to give his side the lead for the third time.
Lewandowski then completed his sensational hat-trick in the 73rd minute, heading home Rashford's corner at the near post. This performance marked his third La Liga hat-trick, adding to an impressive career tally of 16 in the Bundesliga during his spells with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
The Catalan giants had to navigate the final four minutes of stoppage time with ten men after midfielder Frenkie de Jong received his second yellow card for a foul on Iago Aspas. Despite the late tension, the win was secured, allowing Barcelona to capitalize on Real Madrid's earlier stumble in the league. Xabi Alonso's side had played out a goalless draw with city rivals Rayo Vallecano, dropping valuable points.
